1.What is Visco?

Thanks to its unique structure, it is a material that can adjust itself to the weight and shape of the body and return to its original form when the pressure on it is raised. Also known as memory foam. Increases blood circulation and increases sleep quality. Reduces unwanted rotational movements during sleep. He awakens as rested and gives you a start in the sun. The waist, neck, and back are also effective in relieving pain.

A 100% natural product, latex is allergy free, highly resilient and offers a completely unique feel and support. The solid core of latex also stops the transition of movement from one partner to the other for arguably the ultimate in low partner disturbance. Latex is derived from the milk of the rubber tree. The beds made of latex core are Flexible and shock absorbent. There is a relaxing effect on the muscle structure. It is ideal for couples because you can sleep without disturbing your partner with the movement absorbency of the latex. The skin absorbs, it does not smell. The air ducts in the structure are natural air conditioning. Prevents odour and fungus formation. It prevents the formation of germs and mites.

Talalay Latex, a totally natural material produced from rubber wood, is passed through a two-step process to gain a more homogeneous structure. Thus the whole surface of the bed gives the same comfort. As it has more holes, it improves the air circulation and provides the ergonomic support that the body needs perfectly. Air permeability is increased 4 times by passing through special treatment. It prevents bacteria growth inside the bed. Provides a healthy sleeping environment by providing air circulation inside the bed and balancing the temperature. It takes shape from the body and supports it from every point and adapts to all movements of the body during the night.

Bed rotation extends the life of your bed. You have to rotate your bed once every 3 months. After the first 3 months, turn to the head as the first rotation. After 3 months like this, turn the other side of the bed. After using this for 3 months, turn the foot again. Thus, you will be able to provide one full rotation of your bed during the year.

Individually encased, (pocketed) springs that work to support your individual body shape whilst minimising partner disturbance.  It consists of placing the individual springs in interlocked fabric bags. The springs act independently of each other and react according to the amount of pressure created on them. It supports the shoulder, lumbar vertebra and hip region separately due to the different diameters of wires and zone springs of different hardness arranged in 3/5/7 regions according to human anatomy. It provides optimal support for body and spine structure. In addition to the main support material, the double layers on both sides provide extra comfort with the array of springs. Thanks to the ergonomic bearing surface obtained, the blood flow is regulated and the involuntary movements are minimized. It is twice as long as normal springs.

Many high-end beds become more comfortable with age as they conform to your unique shape; our systems are designed to conform to your body instead of your body trying to conform to the sleep surface.

Many top quality mattresses use extra-plush foams and fibres to create comfort layers designed to cradle your body and relieve pressure. In the first few weeks of sleeping on your new mattress, you will likely notice some body impressions on the surface. These impressions are normal and should not be considered a sign that something is wrong with your new mattress. We recommend you rotate your mattress to also eliminate the degree of body impressions.

Your warranty card will have specific information on your mattress.

You should expect some degree of body signature, but deeper impressions will not occur; if they do, please contact the dealer where you originally purchased your sleep system.

This only occurs when the mattress comes straight through production and is sent directly to the consumer. The foam that is used in the manufacturing process can experience some off-gassing but this should dissipate within a week. SlumberCorp® does not hold a warehouse inventory as all our beds are produced as they are ordered through the retailer outlets. Should the odour persist; please contact the retailer where you originally purchased your sleep system.

Due to numerous factors such as how the mattress was used i.e. guest bedroom, master bedroom and whether it was cared for properly and also the quality of the mattress itself will all determine when it will wear out. Other important factors are changes in a person’s lifestyle, how your body has changed over the years and personal comfort levels. A good indication would be to ask yourself the following every 8-10 years:

  • Are you sleeping better or worse than you did a year ago?
  • Are you waking up feeling stiff and sore?
  • Does your mattress have visible signs of wear and tear?
  • Would a new mattress improve your sleep?

When it comes to mattresses, there is NO “one-size-fits-all” product available anywhere on the planet.

It is all a matter of individual taste and preference. We recommend you go to a retailer and use the “rest test” to narrow down your choices. As you lie down on the mattresses, pay attention to three of the mattresses most important features: comfort, support, and space. The mattress that best fulfills the combination of these needs is the best mattress for you.

The specific model that you purchased determines your warranty. Warranty information can be found under the Customer Service section of our website or by calling Customer Service, Monday-Friday at 8:00am –  5:00pm, or email: admin@slumbercorp.com.au

Rotating your mattress ensures that the cushioning and insulation materials will be evenly and properly distributed. At SlumberCorp®, we recommend you rotate your new sleep system for maximum comfort and longevity.

At SlumberCorp®, we recommend using a mattress protector on your new sleep system. This will help to protect your new mattress from accidents that result in stains. Stains will cause deterioration of the foam and fibre layers and void your warranty.

  • At some point, your new sleep set may reveal normal body impressions up to 1½”. This is normal and not a structural defect. The upholstery materials are conforming to the weight and shape of your body.
  • Do not bend the mattress. It should only be carried flat or on the side.
  • Use a mattress protector that is fluid proof. This will protect your new SlumberCorp® mattress, help keep it clean, and protect your warranty. Most SlumberCorp® retailers carry mattress protectors.
  • Rotate your single sided mattress every 3 months, placing the head where the foot was.
  • Flip your double sided mattress completely over.
  • Un-package your new sleep set and allow it to air for a few hours before you place linens on it.
  • Discard the plastic wrapping in a secure location as soon as possible to prevent a child or pet from becoming entangled or suffocated.
  • ALWAYS purchase a new, matching foundation when purchasing a new mattress. If you continue to use your existing base, please check its quality and sturdiness, so that the mattress has proper support and your warranty is not void.
  • If your new mattress has handles do not carry the mattress by the handles. They are not designed to carry the full weight of the mattress.
  • Do not remove the white tag that is sewn into the mattress. This tag contains important information and identification that will provide necessary details to SlumberCorp® in the unlikely event of a problem covered by your warranty.
  • Do not bend, fold, or jump on the mattress.
  • Do not use cleaning fluids on your mattress.
  • Do not allow your mattress to get wet or expose it to any fluids. Any type of fluid will damage the upholstery materials and is specifically excluded from the warranty coverage.
  • Please retain warranty brochure and fill it out with dates of mattress rotation and flip overs. Additionally, retain your retailer customer receipt should you need it for a warranty inquiry.

People often feel that firmer beds provide more support than softer beds, this is sometimes the case, and with a SlumberCorp® mattress, your support comes from our specialized spring systems. The ‘rating’ of X-tra Firm, Firm, Medium, Plush and Ult, a Plush generally comes from the architecture of the comfort layers (fibres & foams). If you have a firm bed & a plush bed, both with the same spring unit, they will both provide an equal level of support, one just feels softer.

Yes – Your SlumberCorp® guarantee does not cover mattress damage due to an inappropriate foundation. Therefore we recommend if using a slat foundation that has a centre rail, and leg support.

SlumberCorp® has in place the broadest and best guarantee in the Bedding and Furniture industry and has an absolute commitment to giving our customer the full value of their guarantee.

If you are sleeping on a pillow top mattress, the comfort levels in the top of the mattress will conform to the shape of your body. The softer the comfort layers, the deeper you will sink into your mattress. Should you experience a heat issue with your mattress, SlumberCorp® suggests a number of options, including using good quality cotton bed linen and woollen underlays in conjunction with temperature reduction options in your home, such as fans and air-conditioning. Always keep in mind that the lower the thread count of the sheets the more breathable they will be. SlumberCorp® can make alterations to the comfort layers (at a cost to you) to reduce the conformance of the mattress, increase its firmness and air ventilation.

SlumberCorp® beds have a manufacturing tolerance covering their width and length. All standard dimensions are nominal.

Any odour you detect when your mattress if first delivered is generally a short-term issue and should not last any longer than two weeks. If you continue to have concerns regarding the odour, we recommend you sprinkle bicarbonate of soda on the mattress, leave for as long as possible, and then give a light vacuum off. Alternatively placing the bicarbonate of soda in a bowl in the bedroom or spraying the mattress with a fabric deodorizer may also assist. Always check the suitability of spray prior to use.

Noise may come from the mattress or the base. The best way to determine the source of the noise is to isolate the mattress from the base onto the floor and then attempt to replicate the noise.

BASE ISSUE: There are a number of possible causes of noise with bases, including castors/glides not being fitted correctly, headboard brackets, or the base rubbing against a nearby power point.

MATTRESS ISSUE: Misuse of the mattress such as sitting, standing or jumping can generate noise. If the noise occurs whilst sleeping, we would suggest contacting our Customer Care Department to discuss the issue further.

Whilst we live in a time where truly Australian made products are becoming a thing of the past, SlumberCorp® Australia still makes all our mattresses and foundations, right here in Australia. With manufacturing plants in Perth and Darwin, we have operations in WA, QLD, and NT, that allows us to make customers products to order, with a turnaround time we are very proud of. We also source most of our raw materials from Australian sources where possible. Due to SlumberCorp®’s manufacturing excellence, we now export our products throughout WA and NT. We have been making beds in Australia for over 25 years, and with this commitment to manufacturing excellence, we are here to stay.

There may be a ‘settling’ period of 6 to 8 weeks for a new mattress. Your new SlumberCorp® mattress will consist of brand new foams, silks, wools, and cottons, therefore, these new materials require time to conform to your body shape and weight.

Body signatures (which is your body’s shape reflected in the mattress), in modern beds, are normal and are generally an indication that the comfort layers are working with your body as they should. To determine if an impression is normal you would need to take a measurement. Place a long, straight edge, like a broom handle across the mattress surface. Measure from the underside of the straight edge to the top of the quilt design, not the stitching line. A measurement of 32mm or less would not indicate the presence of a manufacturing concern with your mattress. Body signatures may appear to be more pronounced with King Size mattresses, utilising the entire surface of your mattress and rotating it as recommended in your SlumberCorp® Warranty will assist in providing even wear, particularly during the first one to three month’s life of your mattress. The base that your mattress is on may contribute to more pronounced body impressions forming. SlumberCorp® does not recommend putting a new mattress on an old base and strongly recommends purchasing a SlumberCorp® ensemble (both mattress and base). If the base is a slat base, this could also influence the performance of your mattress. SlumberCorp® suggests that the slats be secured with a centre support rail and leg, with the gap between the slats must be smaller than the slats themselves. To work out whether your base is the problem, one suggestion is to take the mattress off the base and try it on the floor. If the impressions are less evident this may indicate you have a problem with the base.

The body weight and the folds give you different sleeping positions, giving you the optimum sleep position with support from 7 different regions. It supports the natural position of the spine. This special spring system balances the blood pressure to help reduce joint twitching and muscle pain while reducing bed rotation.

The pressure applied by the human body to the bed is concentrated in five zones. The 5 zone Pocket spring system developed for this purpose supports the body from 5 different points with different degrees of hardness during sleep. The blood flow to the bed, which finds the necessary support in the horizontal position, enters the plane, and the involuntary movements are reduced. Thanks to the system consisting of springs placed independently of each other, even couples with different weight, height and lying position can sleep without disturbing each other. Moreover, comfort has not diminished for years.

Similar to memory foam mattresses, a high-density foam mattress uses a more compact foam typically made from polyurethane. This kind of foam is made largely from open cells that are packed together tightly. High-density foam mattresses offer comfort and longevity because they are denser than a traditional foam mattress. High-density foam mattresses that have an innerspring system last even longer and eliminate mattress sagging.

Rounding out the list of mattress components is the mattress foundation, often called the box-springs. The mattress foundation or box-springs adds another level of support to the mattress. Most mattress manufacturers also produce foundation mattresses or box-springs that lie directly beneath the mattress, resting on the frame of the bed. Usually, the foundation is made of either wood or springs. Springs will give the bed a plusher feel while wood will provide more support. If you prefer wood, make sure the material is free of cracks and constructed straight.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer a faster time quote. Our beds are manufactured fresh to order. On very rare occasions we may have a revision or a cancellation that will allow us to re-consign a freshly made sealed bed to another customer who may have ordered the same merchandise. This will result in a faster delivery. However, we can never guarantee this scenario on any specific order. Should you have an emergency, please contact our Customer Service by calling Customer Service Monday-Friday at 8:00am – 5:00pm or email: admin@slumbercorp.com.au

ILD, or “Internal Load Deflection” describes the amount of pressure needed to create a 25% indentation into the foam. Our ILDs range from 14 to 44 lbs of pressure.

Our mattresses and foundations are all flame retardant. We use a natural thistle barrier. This is an eco-friendly fibre mesh made from mainly wood pulp and a small amount of our polyester bonding agent. This creates a flame retardant barrier without the use of harmful chemicals. There are no chemical sprays applied to our mattresses.

You can use an electric mattress/heating pad with your mattress. Keep in mind that memory foam reacts to heat and pressure, so if the mattress pad is placed directly onto the mattress, the memory foam will react to the heat of electric pad, not your body. This can disrupt the memory foams ability to contour to your body. Longer periods of exposure to heat from an electric blanket or heating pad may damage the mattress.

The SlumberCorp® mattresses are hand-crafted in our 2 own factories in Perth and Darwin. Each SlumberCorp® mattress is built according to our strict proprietary specifications.

Our mattresses are built to last 10 to 15 years with normal usage. Please do read our warranty and mattress care details carefully.

Wall-hugging technology means that when you raise the head of your bed, your nightstands will still be within easy reach. The different platforms of the electric bed will simultaneously go up and back, to stay close to the back wall or headboard.

The zero-gravity pre-set position on our adjustable bed base mimics the position astronauts take during lift-off, which eases the stress on their bodies as they escape Earth’s gravity. This position raises feet to the same level as the heart. People who have back pain or who would like to increase their circulation often find this position extremely relaxing.

The lifespan of a typical mattress is 8 to 10 years. Warning signs of needing a new mattress are: loss of comfort, less support, backaches, coils poking through the mattress, edge collapse, and excessive wear and tear. If you have experienced any of the above, it is probably time for a new mattress.

Even though your box spring may not be showing visible signs of wear and tear, you should buy a new box spring when purchasing a new mattress. The majority of the mattresses made in the past seven years are single-sided, meaning there is only one sleep surface. These mattresses have different foundation needs than previous models. Additionally, most manufacturers will not warranty your new mattress if it is not purchased with its complementing box spring.

Mattresses are available at a number of price points. A queen mattress set can be priced as low as $299 and all the way up to $10,000. Prices vary because of the various technologies used. Sleep is a very important part of a healthy lifestyle; take time to find a mattress that fits your comfort and support needs at a price you can afford.

Please use our buying guide for buying your new mattress and follow some simple steps as listed below:

  • Once you have realized you need a new mattress, do your research.
Mattresses have probably changed drastically since you last shopped, so bring yourself up to speed. Good sources of information include the Internet, manufacturer Web sites, trusted friends and family, and the newspaper.
  • Look for sales Promotions.
Mattress retailers typically advertise on weekends in the newspaper or throughout the week in direct mail.
  • Once you have decided on a store or stores to visit, have an idea of what you would like to spend beforehand.
This will help you and the sales associate find the best mattress for your money.
  • When you visit, wear comfortable clothing.
  • Make yourself at home on the mattresses.
Try every sleep position you go through in a typical night. Take your time, and ask the sales associate to give you a minute if need be.
  • Try mattresses with different tops and different materials, as the feels and support levels differ.
  • Feel free to ask any question of the sales associate.
  • Try to narrow your selection down to two or three beds.
More choices than that will be confusing.
  • Once you decide on a mattress, your retailer will arrange delivery and removal of your old mattress for you.
  • Once your mattress arrives, please make sure you register your product under “Product Registration / Register Guarantee” on our website, so that the guarantee for your product doesn’t get void.

Many of today’s mattresses are built with one sleep surface. This movement to single-sided construction has given manufacturers greater ability to construct more comfortable, more supportive and more durable mattresses. Additionally, it eliminates the difficult task of flipping one’s mattress. It is recommended that you rotate a single-sided mattress regularly to refresh comfort layers.

First 3 months – Turn mattress every two weeks. After 3 months – Turn mattress every month.

Mattresses need to be rotated to achieve their maximum usable life. You can extend your mattress comfort and the durability of your new sleep set by setting a regular schedule for care and maintenance.

Today’s mattresses employ thick layers of upholstery materials to provide comfort and the feeling of plushness. Over time (even a short time), these layers will compress to form to your body. This is quite natural, and a mattress should be rotated regularly to ensure proper, even wear.

For the first 90 days, your SlumberCorp® sleep set should be rotated every two weeks. After the initial 90 days, you will only need to rotate your mattress once a month.

  • First 3 Months – Turn mattress every two weeks.
  • After 3 Months – Turn mattress every month.

SlumberCorp® offers hundreds of mattress models under every brand we manufacture encompassing a wide range of prices.
